Our beautiful, feisty, little French-Canadian lady’s journey has come to an end.

Lucie McBrearty (née Grégoire) born in Restigouche, passed away peacefully at Pleasant Valley Manor (PVM) in Armstrong, British Columbia on Thursday, November 30th at the age of 88. Predeceased by George, her adoring and devoted husband of 54 years; she is lovingly remembered by her two daughters Patricia and Kate, and her son-in-law Randy (Becher).

Lucie was spunky, full of spirit, courage and determination. A woman who became accomplished at anything she put her mind to; a gourmet cook, a skilled seamstress, a talented oil painter, a bridge club director and an avid gardener. She was very clear about what she liked and had a mischievous streak, twinkling eyes, and a penchant for silliness. Her French flair, along with her expressive hand and nose gestures, are fondly remembered. Lucie’s love of family knew no bounds.

We, her family, wish to express our heartfelt “thank you” to the extraordinary staff at PVM. Not only was her care exemplary, she gave and received much genuine love from many wonderful individuals who recently became part of her family. They warmed our hearts and will be thought of fondly and with love.

Funeral services will be held in Nouvelle (on the Gaspe Peninsula), Quebec in 2017 – her final resting place beside her husband, George.
