Heaven has received a special angel. Lucille Mary Graves(Schabler) was born in Anaheim Sask. on September 23, 1935 and passed away in Vernon BC on October 28, 2022.
She grew up in Ste Rose du Lac, Manitoba and moved to Kenora, Ontario in her teens. There she met the love of her life, Percy James Graves. They were married on May 12, 1956 and shared a wonderful life together until PJ passed away July 5, 2010. Being a military family, they moved across Canada and around the world.
In 1993, Lucille and PJ retired to Vernon BC. where they enjoyed cruising, golf, curling and many social activities. In mom's later years, she spent her time continuing her passion for cruising, bridge, and bowling. Spending time with her great grandchildren brought mom such joy! Lucille is survived by her daughters Debra(Ralph) and Linda (Lorraine), her grandchildren Christopher (Tanya), Jeffery, and Shawna (Stephane), her 10 great grandchildren, her brother John and sister Tilly (Bob), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and many close and dear friends.
We are all feeling the emptiness in her passing but the realization Nan and Pop are together once again is comforting. Our deep appreciation go to Lucille's doctor of 30 years, Dr. Murphy and the caring staff at Carrington Retirement Residence.
At mom's request, there will be no funeral; a Celebration of Life will be held this coming spring (her favourite time of the year). We will place a Celebration of Life notice in the Morning Star this spring.
