Lydia Doris Boss was born on October 15, 1912, in Russia and passed away peacefully at Pleasant Valley Manor, in Armstrong, B.C. on December 26, 2003 aged 91 years. Lydia came to Canada with her family in 1923 settling at Herbert, Sk. She trained to be a teacher and after one year went into nursing at Winnipeg General Hospital. She married Rawleigh Boss and all her years in Armstrong she was a Public Health Nurse. She had many interests, Paint and Pallet Club, founder of Kindale Association, Ladies Auxilliary of Shrine Club, church work, U.C.W., to mention only a few. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and a sister, Phillip and Henry Penner and Rhoda Buhr. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by, husband, Rawleigh, sons, Roy (Donna) of Port Coquitam, Gary of Armstrong, grandchildren, Shanna, Traci, and Andrew; god daughter, Maureen Vincent, formerly Armstrong of Vernon; 2 sisters, Susan Kope (Jake) Chilliwack and Kay Thiessen (Al) of Toronto, cousin, Lou Buckler of Armstrong, extended family and many friends. Funeral Service was held at the Armstrong Bible Chapel, Armstrong, B.C. on Tuesday December 30, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Dr. Jonathon Dent officiating. Interment in Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery. Arrangements were in the care of PERSONAL ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL SERVICES 546-7237.
