Lydia Mullen (nee: Ignatieff) born December 9th, 1923 in Troitzkosavsk, Russia, was raised by her paternal aunt and grandmother in Peking, Tinsin, and Shanghai, China. She passed away on September 5th, 2009 at Polson North Extended Care Facility at the age of 85 years.
Lydia, an avid quilter and sewer, also enjoyed embroidery, cross-stitch, and knitting. She was a master at many needlecrafts.
Lydia, with her husband Frank, owned and operated a motel in Vernon for over thirty years. Prior to buying the motel, Lydia and Frank traveled the world; spending thirty years in the Far East where Frank was employed with a U.S. oil company.
In 2006, Lydia was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and brother, Nick. She is survived by her loving daughter, Maryann (Allen) Dubeski of Coldstream, BC, two grandsons, David and Christopher, one sister, Nadia Hall of San Francisco, California, sister-in-law, Anne Ignatieff of Chilliwack, BC, numerous nieces and nephews in California and the lower mainland of BC.

The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Rita Harrison, was held on Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 at All Saints Anglican Church.
