Lydia (Lil) Rohrig
was born on August 26th, 1921 in Beausejour,
Manitoba and passed away peacefully on April 7th,
2010 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 88 years. She will
be lovingly remembered by her two sons; Lester (Carey) Rohrig of Vernon,
B.C. and Neil (Myrna) Rohrig of Seven Sisters Falls, Manitoba, four
grandchildren; Brent (Nikki) Rohrig of Cranbrook, B.C., Brad (Caroline)
Rohrig of Ottawa, Ontario, Curtis Rohrig of Seven Sisters Falls, Manitoba
and Lisa (Craig) Newman of Gilliam, Manitoba, three great-grandchildren;
Kailyn and Dane Rohrig and Paige Newman, three brothers; Clarence
(Gail) Pischke of Winnipeg, Manitoba, William (Marge) Pischke of Port
Hope, Ontario and Harvey (Eileen) Pischke of Whitemouth, Manitoba, two
sisters; Martha Milbrandt and Elsie Henderson of Whitemouth, Manitoba,
one sister-in-law; Linda Rohrig of River Hills,
Manitoba as well as numerous nieces, nephews,
extended family members and friends. Lydia was
preceded in death by her husband; Albert Rohrig,
two brothers, three sisters and her parents; Rudolf
and Caroline Pischke.
Cremation preceded a Funeral Service which will
be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Monday,
April 19th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Roy White
offi ciating. Interment of Lydia’s cremated remains
will take place at a later date at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church Cemetery in River Hills, Manitoba.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may make
donations in memory of Lydia to the charity of their choice.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Cawkell, Dr.
Cunningham, the staff at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Larry Thomson from
Interior Health, the staff at Carrington Place and the B.C. Ambulance
Paramedics for the care and support given to Lydia during her illness.
