Lyle Norse Berg

November 12, 1924 to October 2, 2017

On Monday, October 2nd, Lyle Berg of Osoyoos, BC passed away peacefully in his sleep after brief illness of heart disease.

He will be lovingly remembered by Olive, His wife of 68 years, his daughter Beverley Rogan, his sons Gary (Chris) Berg and Geoffrey (Carole) Berg, as well as his granddaughters Kerri (Mitesh) Rogan, Jennifer (Stephan) Rodousakis and Nicole (Travis) Parker and great granddaughters Stella and Alexia Rodousakis as well as by his many Nieces and Nephews.

Lyle led a full and productive life. He grew up on the family dairy farm at the Okanagan Landing in Vernon. In his early twenties he and his friend, Jamie Massey, purchased a piece of land at Six Mile Creek and built a cattle ranch. It was here that he took his young bride Olive and raised his family.

In 1969 he sold the ranch and moved to Vernon. He found he wasn't ready for retirement and purchased a convenience store in the Coldstream.

After a couple of years he went to work for Kelly Douglas in Vernon, later selling the store and transferring to Kelly Douglas in Nanaimo in 1978 and finally retiring in 1986.

Lyle enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

He and his wife Olive spent many years as snowbirds traveling south in their motor home. They moved to Osoyoos in 1990 where they remained.

Lyle is best known for his love of family and will be sadly missed by all.

A memorial service is to be held Tuesday, October 17th at 11:00 am at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, light lunch to follow.
