It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Lynette Hannah Bucknell, age 70, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 3, 2025, surrounded by love after a courageous battle with illness.
Lynette was born on January 6, 1955, in Calgary, Alberta, the fifth of six children born to Ben and Mable Hall. Lynette moved with her family to Vancouver, where she met and married Rick Bucknell. Together, they raised their four children in Nakusp and later in Armstrong. Lynette worked for BC Liquor until her retirement.
Lynette was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, with a deep love for her family. She cherished community events, quilting, planting flowers, birdwatching, and sharing tea with loved ones. Above all, her greatest joy was her children and the special bond they shared.
Lynette was predeceased by her husband Rick Bucknell. Lynette is survived by her children: Sandra (Roger), Christine (Tony), Raymond, and Loretta (Adam); her grandchildren: Julia, Dean, Alexander, Avalynn, Gillian, Jessica, Emmett, Oscar, Adeline, and Norah; her siblings: Lorraine, Laura, Linda, Loretta, Leonard, and their spouses; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Blue Grass Farms, 1344 Otter Lake Rd, Armstrong, BC. Please join us in remembering, honoring, and celebrating the incredible woman that our mom, Lynette was.
