It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maple (Corkie) Garleen Stewart (nee Mohr), who left us peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 13, 2018.
Corkie was the most positive person who never let anything get her down, no matter what was thrown in her path. Corkie moved to Carrington over 12 years ago and began running the Tuck Store and resident ambassador. If ever anyone needed a hug, hers were strong, genuine and free. Corkie lit up any room she entered with her fabulous smile and attitude.
She was one of a kind.
Now as she passes through the gates, she can walk, in fact now she can dance her way to the table with a drink in each hand for her well-deserved steak and lobster dinner. Enjoy Mom!

Corkie leaves behind her children: Beverly Saulter (Ron) of California, Richard Stewart (Patty) of BC, and Ronald Stewart (Val) of Alberta. Grandchildren: Angela Godfrey (Geoff) of Washington, Stacey Heidema, of BC, James Haworth (Cassie) of BC, Jennifer Saulter, Matthew Stewart (Michelle) of Alberta, Katie Stewart of BC, Michelle Smith of Alberta, Jennifer Plante (Serge) of Ontario, Brittany Stewart of Alberta. Corkie is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
Corkie was pre-deceased by her parents Garfield and Bessie Mohr (Nee Airth); her siblings: Ernest, Clinton, Vida, Berri, Bessie, Freda and Garfield James.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday April 19, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home 4303 Pleasant Valley Road at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow.
