It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Al-Molky, fondly known as “Momma O”, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends at home on July 17, 2007.

Momma O moved to Kelowna in 1974 and nursed at Kelowna General Hospital until her retirement in 1989 at which time she began working for her son, Gerry Obrecht at the Kalamalka Hotel and Gerry O’s liquor store in Vernon.  She continued to work until illness forced her into retirement again in 2006.

She is survived by her loving sons Brent Mayall (Paula) of North Vancouver, Gerry Obrecht (Pam) of Vernon, eight grandchildren Mark of Cochrane, Alberta, Phillip of Lumby, James, Sean and Lucas of North Vancouver, Jennifer, Devon and Ashley all of Vernon. She is also survived by her sister Phyllis McEwing, Brandon Manitoba, one nephew and niece of Winnipeg and one nephew in Australia. Margaret also leaves to mourn many friends from Vancouver to Manitoba who will miss her wisdom, humor, inspiration and genuine caring. Special and life-long friends Josette Duprat and Del Logos. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks for the care and compassion of Dr. Fred Dyck, the health care workers of Hospice House and the community care workers. Funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church  on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 2:00  p.m. followed by a “never empty glass wake”. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to Hospice House, 3506 27 Avenue, Vernon B.C. V1T 1S4. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to:
