1930 - 2016

Betty was born November 4, 1930. She grew up with a brother and parents in Vancouver.

In her childhood she played baseball, swam, played tennis, and skied both downhill and cross country. She called herself a Tomboy! Betty completed Grade 12. She met her husband Stan in the bowling alley! She and Stan married and moved to Port Moody. They worked in her dad’s furniture factory. Together they raised their son and daughter. Betty was very proud of the interior decorating she did in the houses her husband built. At one point they customized a walk-in van and took the family on fishing trips as well as a big trip down to Disneyland. When Betty was 45 they moved to Mabel Lake. She played baseball after she retired – on the King Fisher Cripple team. Betty has enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sports/games, cooking, cards and talking with people.

Betty’s comment when reading this story is … the liking to talking with people hasn’t changed! She loves to visit!

Betty is survived by her son: David (Audrey)

Jones of Vernon; son in law Tom Golz; grandchildren: Jason (Kim), Sam (Nadine) all of Enderby, Crystle of Vernon, and Tyler (Kate) of Edmonton; great grandchildren: Damon,

Landon, Peyton and Braydon. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Stan in 2008 and her daughter Cathie in 2015. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
