Margaret Ivy Ballard (nee Bellingham) born Oct 3, 1922 in Sevenoaks, Kent, England died Dec 1, 2006 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital. She is survived by her loving children Douglas (Wendy) Ballard, Linda (George) Bjarnason, Jacqueline (Neil) Hay, Carol (Donald) Craske, Clint (Julie) Ballard, Eric (Vicki) Ballard, brother
Jack (Angela) Bellingham, Eleven Grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and long time friend and fellow war bride Joan Jackson. Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband Cecil on December 26th, 1987. Mum met dad while he was serving with the Seaforth Highlanders overseas and married at Tonbridge, Kent on December 9th, 1941. Mum arrived in Halifax at Pier 21 aboard The SS
Andeson November 17th, 1944 along with many other war brides. She traveled to Vancouver by train settling in North Vancouver for forty years, assisting with the family business Seaforth Shoe Renew, and raising a family. Upon retirement, they moved to the Oliver area and after dad’s death she moved to Vernon seventeen years ago. Despite her failing health, mum managed to enjoy her beloved dogs, beautiful gardens, visits from friends and family, and maintained her independence almost to the end. She willbe sadly missed and our memories will live on in our hearts forever. Cremation. A private family service will
be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Margaret may do so to the Charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
