In Loving Memory ~ Margaret passed away peacefully at 93 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert. She leaves behind her two sons, Darryl and Brian, her brother, Bernard, and a large extended family. She was born in Osler Saskatchewan as child number 8 in a family of 10 children. As a little girl she moved with her family to a homestead in Carrot River where the whole family survived the great depression, often eating mainly carrots. She was always amazed at the many ways carrots can be prepared.
When Margaret was a teenager, the family moved to Vernon where she spent the rest of her life. She remained close to family and extended family and seems to be everyone’s favorite aunt.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1947 and remained faithful until her death. She met her husband in the local congregation and they were married in 1950.
Aside from raising her family she at times worked as a clerk at the Roadside Grocery, as a caregiver to the elderly and loved making wedding cakes.
Some comments from nieces and nephews: “Always calm”, “Sweet and soft hearted”. “She was always there with words of wisdom and a cheerful thought to share”. “I have very fond memories of Great Aunt Margaret””She was such a sweetheart. You had a wonderful mom”. “Visiting Aunt Margaret was my favorite travel destination”.
She awaits an earthly resurrection into a literal paradise where she will attend the ultimate family reunion.
