March 24, 1934 - March 3, 2021
It is with profound sadness that the family of Margaret Storms (Mulholland) announce her passing on Wednesday March 3, 2021 at the age of 86 in her home in Vallejo, California.
Margaret was an avid reader, a talented writer, and loved to travel. She held a variety of interesting careers, such as working for the Film Board of Canada as well as United Airlines. Margaret had an adventurous spirit, and her career with the airlines fueled her passion for travel. Her travels provided her with many interesting stories that she later enjoyed sharing with her family and friends.
Margaret met her husband Wayne Storms in the United States. They married soon after and found much joy in raising their two sons, Daniel David Storms and Kevin Patrick Storms.
Margaret built a beautiful life in Vallejo with Wayne and found happiness in many activities. In between raising her boys, she spent her time organizing programs for parents and troubled youth, participating in prayer groups with St.Basil's Parish, and planning prayer chains for those in need.
In addition, she kept busy through her participation in local writing groups, writing many stories about her Canadian childhood. Her most favorite stories were those of her life growing up on Silver Star Mountain with her Irish parents and beloved brothers and sisters.
When Wayne died in 2002, Margaret missed him terribly. However, she did not withdraw from life. Margaret continued to be a valued member of her prayer group, volunteered to read with local elementary students, and even took up line dancing.
She continued to stay in their home overlooking the bay, cherishing her view of the water and writing journals of gratitude and prayer. She also enjoyed dancing in her kitchen daily.
Margaret had a deep connection with her family and her friends. Her passion for life, her faith in the Lord, and her strength of character made her a very special person. People were often drawn to her, and it was not uncommon for strangers to strike up a conversation with Margaret during her travels.
She was the kind of person who made friends wherever she went. While she lived a life of independence, she was never lonely. Her unshakeable faith brought her fulfillment in her daily life.
Margaret will be deeply missed by her loving sons Daniel and Kevin Storms (Tracee), her siblings Pat Mulholland (Sophie), Dan Mulholland (Milly), Dianne Hymers (Jim), Sharon Shopland (Eric), as well as her 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Suncrest Hospice and the caregivers who helped Margaret to pass peacefully in her home after a short but brave battle with Cancer.
Margaret was predeceased by her brother John Mulholland in 2001, and her loving husband Wayne. She will be reunited with Wayne at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
Due to COVID restrictions there will not be a formal gathering at this time. The family hopes to hold a Celebration of Life in the late Summer or early Fall when restrictions for large gatherings are lifted.
