January 24, 1942 - October 12, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt at the age of 79. Marg was born on January 24th, 1942 and went to be with the Lord on October 12th, 2021. It brings us peace and comfort knowing she is now reunited with the love of her life, Ernie, to whom she was married for 58 wonderful years.
Marg leaves behind four children, Kerry (Andrea), Len (Lynne), Bonnie and Darryl (Sandy); eight grandchildren, Kriston, Matthew, Shayne, Cameron, Janessa, Chantel, Bryce and Dylan; three sisters, Violet, Irene and Sharon; one brother, Gordon; and extended family members. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ernie and brothers, Clifford, Ronnie and Marvin.
Marg was born in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan to Herman and Lydia Helmer, where she grew up on the farm with her seven siblings. After moving to Vernon in 1983, Marg, Ernie and their business partners Dennis & Gloria opened Big O Tire. Marg was the glue that held everyone together and took pride in the family working so closely with one another. She was deeply devoted to her family, always ensuring they were provided for. After a hard days work you could find Marg at the Casino, visiting with friends of the community. She was an incredible role model in all of our lives and we will cherish her in our hearts forever.
In respecting Marg's wishes, she was cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
