In Loving Memory ~
On February 8th Margaret Richardson passed away peacefully in Vernon, at the age of 96.
Margaret was born in Worthing, Sussex, England on January 10th, 1927, to Charles and Alice Crowhurst.
Margaret moved from England to Vernon in 1974 with her husband Harry and son Ian. She took an immediate liking to her new home in Canada and often remarked how beautiful the hills surrounding Vernon were.
Over the years Margaret made several trips back to England to visit her parents, sister Beryl, son Alan, daughter-in-law Jane and granddaughter Laura. Although they lived far away, they were always in her heart. Margaret retained a fondness for England and was very knowledgeable about British history.
Margaret was a lifelong learner, with a wide variety of interests. In her 60s and 70s, she was able to travel to some of the places she had read about and attended several concerts. Margaret enjoyed the last 12 years living at Vernon Restholm. Her last two months were spent at Polson Care Home, where she was well looked after.
She loved being a grandma (Grams) to her grandchildren and O'l Nana to her great-grandchildren. Margaret loved a good joke and had a wicked sense of humour. She enjoyed and appreciated music throughout her life and loved a good game of cards, winning her last two games of rummy a week before she passed.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1987.
She is survived by her sister Beryl Gibb, Sons Alan (Jane) Marshall, and Ian (Anne) Richardson, grandchildren Laura Marshall, Rose (Donovan) Gentles, Harry Richardson, great-grandchildren Pyder and Brielle Gentles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Margaret will be held at a later date.
