Born in Bonnyrigg, (near Edinburgh) Scotland in 1923, Margaret excelled in sports during her formative years. Her brother often said she was such a great sprinter, she could have run in the Olympics. During World War II, Margaret joined the WAFs and served as a plotter. It was during this time she met her Canadian soldier, Mike. They married in 1942 and at the end of the war, Margaret followed Mike to Canada arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax and travelling by train to Kamsack, Sk. There she learned to farm and to speak Russian.

The family travelled back and forth to Scotland and spent two years in Germany while Mike served with the Canadian Armed Forces. Following Mike's retirement from the Forces, they moved to Vancouver and then on to Vernon.

Margaret worked for several years at Jacques Jewellers where she excelled at the "diamond desk." She loved her job, the people she worked with, and the fine jewelry she sold to many a young fiance. In her senior years she enjoyed her independence until her health began to decline.

In December of 2016 she moved to Creekside Assisted Living where she enjoyed new friendships and the loving care of the Creekside team. Our family wish to thank her doctors, Frank Healy, and Aubrey DeBeer and all the support team and healthcare workers both at the hospital and at Creekside for the kindness and professional care Margaret received during these final months. Cremation.

A gathering will be held in the coming weeks when all family and close friends can attend.
