Margery Wilde

Margery Wilde

Margery passed away peacefully at Noric House on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009 at the age of 80 years.

She was born in Trail, BC, studied at UBC to become a Home Economics teacher and taught in Castlegar, Guelph, Ontario, and Vernon. She spent many summers judging crafts and sewing at the IPE in Armstrong, loved the outdoors and was a keen hiker and skier.

Margery enjoyed her volunteer work at the Vernon Senior Secondary School Library and she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. She loved all things chocolate – no doubt inherited from her father.

Margery is survived by her loving family: two daughters: Jane (Richard Fish) Wilde of Prince Rupert and Nancy (Brian Sanjenko) Wilde of Vernon; son, Tom, of Vernon; two granddaughters, Kate and Norah, and one sister, Jane (Harry) Misakian of Vail, Colorado in the USA. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Walter, in 1977.

The family extends special thanks to all the staff at Noric House for the care, compassion and kindness shown Margery.

The Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Thursday, November 26th, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, those friends wishing to make memorial contributions in memory of Margery may do so to the Alzheimer Society, 102, 3402-27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S1 or to Noric House, 1400 Mission Road, Vernon, BC V1T 9C3.
