Margit Jensen

November 1st,1934 to December 28th, 2013

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that, following a brief illness, we must announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend Margit. She leaves behind those whose hearts she touched with her love, her silliness and caring; her children Lori (Peter), Bryan, and Tina (Vince) her grandchildren Danyell, Jeremy and Brad. Her step grandchildren Ken, Nicole (Keith), Kevin and Sahara and her great grandchildren Trevor, Stevie and Tatain. Dearest friends Glen, Hazel, Inga and Bev and so many others. After the death of her husband of over 40 years in October of 2000, Margit found great comfort, purpose and friendship while devoting her time and love to her volunteer role as secretary of the Army, Navy and Airforce unit #5, it was here that she socialized, and enjoyed attending conventions, meat draws and other ANAF events.

She was born in Prince Rupert, BC to Murdo and Dorothy Macarthur, she grew up in Prince Rupert and enjoyed her many experiences and travel as a Job’s daughter and eventual Queen of Job’s daughter. She was also acting sergeant for the Canadian Women’s Army Corp.

There will be a service held at Bethel Funeral Chapel at 5605-27th Street on Saturday, January 4th, 2014 at 11am and following will be a celebration tea at the ANAF club (in the hall) at 2500-46th Avenue in Vernon (time to be announced at service).

In lieu of flowers those who wish can send a donation to Wellspring ( or to the SPCA of your choice.

Miss me but let me go

When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me,

I want no rites in gloom-filled rooms, why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little-but not too long, and not with your head bowed low;

Remember the love that we once shared, miss me but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take, and each must go alone.

It’s all a part of the Master’s plan, a step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know,

And busy your sorrows in doing good deeds.

Miss me but let me go. (Betty Miller)
