Marion passed away at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on January 5th, 2012.
She leaves behind: her sister-in-law and best friend, Nell Griffin of Vernon. She also leaves behind several nieces, two of whom are Wendy (Mark) Grudniski, their daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Horvath and their two sons, Riley and Emmett, all of Cranbrook; Ghislaine (Tony) Denbigh, their daughter, Mary-Anne and son Charlie, all of Kamloops; and extended family members in England, USA and Canada. Marian was predeceased by her brother, Russell, in 1995 and by her four-legged friend, Kiwi.
Marian was born in Vernon and lived here all her life, except for when she travelled on trips to England; the first two, visiting relatives in London, and the other, travelling by bus through southern England, Wales, Scotland, and then back from where she started.
During her working years, she was employed mainly by the Hudson’s Bay Company. Prior to her retirement, she had been managing several departments.
Being fond of animals, Marian was a great supporter of the BC Wildlife Federation and the Vernon & District Animal Care Society.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Marian may do so to the Vernon & District Animal Care Society, Box 1564, Vernon, BC V1T 8C2, or to a charity of choice.
Do not stand and weep
I did not die – just went to sleep.
