Marie Francis Elizabeth Hampton, age 79, of Vernon, BC, passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Herman Hampton of Vernon, BC. Marie was born on December 4th, 1938 in Roblin, Manitoba.
She was the daughter of predeceased Elsie Elizabeth and Mervin Yakimishyn of Roblin Manitoba. Marie was the sister of predeceased brother Myron Yakimishyn of Roblin, MB, Ron Yakimishyn (Rosemary) of Roblin, MB, Angela Killen of Enderby, BC, and Greg Yakimishyn (Margaret) of Calgary, AB. Marie worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Calgary AB for 20 years before retiring and settling in the Okanagan Valley with her husband Herman.
Marie leaves behind four daughters, Debbie Seres (Alex) of Port Moody, BC, Shelley Hampton (Kenneth) of Crossfield, AB, Teresa Fortier of Calgary, AB, Elizabeth Hautzinger (Corey) of Okotoks, AB. Marie also leaves behind her many beloved grandchildren, Jeremiah Hampton, Sean Fortier, Leah Stow nee Fortier, Nathan Hampton, Justin Fortier, Reginald Hautzinger, Lance Hampton, Thomas Hautzinger, Melanie Fortier, Aimie Seres, Kylah Seres as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Marie was an incredible person, smart, kind, reliable, loyal, she had countless friends and was loved by all whom she encountered. Her favourite pastimes were fishing, dancing and gardening. She also enjoyed simply spending time with her family and friends. At Marie's request, no funeral services will be held in Vernon, BC.
A memorial will be held at a later date in Roblin, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St Michaels parish in Roblin Manitoba.
