MRS. MARIE GRACE YOUNG MILLARD (nee GENEREUX) was born on February 11th, 1905 in Athabasca, Alberta and passed away on January 4th, 2004 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 98 years. Soon after her birth, Grace moved with her family to Calgary, Alberta and in her late teens Grace met and married Leighton Young of Calgary. The couple had one son, Roy John Colin Young. Grace’s many moves took her to White Rock, B.C., Billings Bay, B.C., Langley, B.C. and finally settling at Big Chief Mobile Home Park in Vernon, B.C. After her second husband, Sandy Millard passed away, Grace moved to the Orchard Valley Retirement Residence. Over the years Grace made many wonderful and loving friendships in Vernon. She will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Roy & Joy Young of Coupeville, Washington, four granddaughters; Karen (Craig) Kackman of Marysville, Washington, Sharen (Ken) Rivera of Oak Harbor, Washington, Carol Moen of Mt. Vernon, Washington and Leeann (Rob) Young of Oak Harbor, Washington, six great-grandchildren; Shelyse (Chris) Hermans of Stanwood, Washington, Brent Kackman of Marysville, Washington, Emrie McCauslin of Coupeville, Washington, Colin McCauslin of Jacksonville, Florida, Jason Buck of Mt. Vernon, Washington and Marisa Moen of Mt. Vernon, Washington, one great-great-granddaughter, Madeline Joy Hilkey of Coupeville, Washington and many friends. Grace was greatly loved by all her family and will be missed. In respecting Grace’s wishes, she was cremated and there will be no Funeral Service held.
