Marie Popowich

Marie Popowich 1920-2008

It is with deep sadness that the family of Marie Popowich announces her passing on

September 28th, 2008 at Hospice House, Vernon, British Columbia. On January 23rd,

1920 Marie was born in Kahwin, Alberta and remained there until moving to Vernon

in 1942. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1988 and daughter Phyllis

Jellison in 1999. Marie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters:

Olga (Frank) Bordas, Christine (Gordon) Hull and Joan Smeyers. Hugely missing her are

her grandchildren: Corrinne Jellison, Cheryl (Murray) Eby, Charlene (Dan) Gnam, Derrick

(Geri) Bordas, Nicole Hull, Ryan (Heather) Hull, Eric (Cydney) Hull and J’Lene Smeyers; 8

great grandchildren: Jacquelyn (David) Seigo, Jeorgia & Joely Gnam, Zakk & Jake Bordas,

Parker (Ann ) Eby, Alex & Angus Eby and one great, great grandchild: Jillian Eby. Marie

was a mischievous sister, loving wife, wonderful mom, grandma and strawberry Baba who

lived life to the fullest and always with a great sense of humour. Sixty-two years ago

Marie dedicated her life to serve Jehovah. During that time it was very important to her

to share with others her faith and hope in the Bible’s promise of a paradise earth under

righteous rule. Marie is now safely in Jehovah’s loving memory awaiting a resurrection.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Vincent, Dr. Sholomenko and

the nurses and staff of Hospice House for their outstanding care of our mom. As an

expression of sympathy, those wishing to do so may send donations in memory of Marie

to the worldwide work of Jehovah’s Witnesses. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday,

October 4th, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the East Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1424
