Marie Louise Roze des Ordons
Lou passed away peacefully in Vernon on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, surrounded by her family. She will be deeply missed by her sons and their wives Edward (Suzie) and Moe (Merylin) and her grandchildren Amanda, Danielle, Jenna (Courage), Melissa (Troy) and Matthew (Tini).
Lou lost her husband and love of her life Bernard in 1986.
Lou was born on June 24, 1917 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital. She grew up on her family farm in Lavington and attended the Lavington school, traveling there by horse & buggy with her brother Alfred.
Lou looked up to her parents with fondness; her mother was her closest friend.
Lou and Bernard were married on June 28, 1945 and resided on their cattle farm where they raised their children. In 1956 they moved to Vernon where they ran the Silver Star Mountain Resort Restaurant.
She had a passion for gardening, knitting, and hockey, and was a true naturalist and historian. Lou & Bernie enjoyed camping, traveling & meeting with other HAM radio buffs.
Lou will be remembered as a strong-spirited, hard working, good humoured woman who deeply loved her family.
A gathering to celebrate Lou’s life will be held in January 2013. Details will be posted at a later date.
