It is with profound sadness that the family of Marilyn Irene Grieser announces her passing on January 22, 2018, after a brave fight with cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years - Klaus; and her daughters Kathy John (Scott) of Maple Ridge BC, and Pamela Owen (Marc) of Coldstream BC.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Evan and Keagan, Keely and Sophie, and Marc's children Kendra, Riley, Bryce and Marley.

Marilyn is predeceased by her parents Andy and Irene Hannah, and brother John Hannah of Kelowna BC.

Born in Vancouver, Marilyn grew up in the Fraser Mills area of Coquitlam, attending Millside Elementary & Como Lake High School. In1961, she graduated from the Royal Columbian Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed a long career as a registered nurse -specializing in high risk maternity and special care nursery, working in New Westminster, Trail, Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, Prince George and Surrey.

Marilyn was a lifelong friend to many; she was chatty, caring, fun-loving, hardworking and loyal. Her wonderful sarcastic sense of humour and love of music often made her the life of the party. Marilyn loved to attend numerous concerts and musicals with her husband and family, and thoroughly enjoyed singing karaoke at many local venues on a regular basis.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at the Schubert Centre in Vernon BC, on Sunday, February 11th, at 2 pm in the Emerald Room.

€In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Okanagan Hospice House in Marilyn's name.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to her caring team at the North Okanagan Hospice House who made her last week so loving, comfortable and peaceful.
