Marion Lambie (Graham) Wilson
was taken from us at 1:00 am on the 15th of May 2012 at the Vernon Hospice House. It was just four weeks ago Marion was told she had terminal cancer. Then on the 27th of April Marion woke with a stroke. She was only 74 years old. Marion was born in Troon, Scotland. She was very athletic and a very good swimmer. In her school years she was awarded a “Life Saver’s Medallion”.
“In 1955 I came first in Scotland’s Free Style Swimming Competition. After graduating High-School I earned a Diploma in Hair Dressing. I then left Scotland in 1957 to tour Canada, the USA and Australia and return to Scotland. I got as far as Vancouver where I met Bert and we were married in 1959. I became a Canadian Citizen in 1970.” In Canada, Marion was a long distance telephone operator, a dental assistant, then a remarkable and loving wife, mother, homemaker, grandmother and great grandmother.
Marion has left to grieve her, with aching hearts: Bert; her children, Bradley (Nancy), Trevor (long time family member Gindy), and Jana (Jeff Jacobi); her grandchildren: Braden (Chantel), Janelle, Karli, Christie ( Phillip Redfern), Chris, LaShanda;, her great-grandchildren: Conner, Mason, and Aaila; her brother Gordon (Agnes) and their children Jaquline, Debbie, and Gordon Jr.; and many, many other extended family members and friends.
The Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Saturday, May 26th, 2012 at 12:00 noon. Inurnment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, then a reception in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room.
The family will be pleased, if anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Marion, would do so to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506-27th Ave. Vernon, BC V1T 1S4.
