MRS. MARJORIE ALMA BUTTERWORTH, a long time resident of Oyama, B.C., was called Home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 4th, 2003 at Vernon Hospice House at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Harold in 1998 and by her brother, Alex McDonagh. Marjorie was dearly loved by her sons, Douglas (Lynne) and Don (Joyce); her grandchildren, Deidre (Darrell) Ert, Jill (John) Penner, David (Angela) Butterworth, Darren Butterworth and her four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ross (Nancy) McDonagh, her sisters, Eunice Coxon and Norma Earl and numerous nieces and nephews. Marjorie and Harold were married in 1937, living in Penticton following their marriage and a year later moved to Oyama where they operated an orchard and resort together for many years. They continued to live in Oyama, wintering in Palm Springs, California and Mesa, Arizona. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5151 – Alain Road, Vernon, B.C. with Pastor Roy White officiating.
