It is with profound sadness that we, the family, announce the unexpected passing of our dear mother and wife Marlene on Sunday, March 7th at VJH. Loving wife to Eliea (Eli) for 54 years. Survived by her children: Debbie Bannister, Dan Ambrosi (Mary), Linda Bachi (Allan), Elle Ambrosi, Yvonne Kilmartin (Brian), Janet Platt (Barry), Brenda Ambrosi (Reg Gould). Survived by her grandchildren: Michelle & Ashley Bannister, Kierra Bachi, Tylor & Dimitri Marshall, Joshua & Tamelia Platt, Zander, Anya, & Layla Gould. Also survived by great grandchildren: Tristan Marshall, Gabriel Platt, Dakota & Teagan Reid.
She will always remain in the hearts of her husband and children who will sadly miss her each and everyday.
Marlene was born in Edmonton, Alberta on June 6th and was the daughter of Ambrose Heinrich. She moved to Kelowna at an early age where she received her education. Shortly thereafter, she met Eliea (Eli) at the New Moon Café. They were happily married on February 11th,1956 in Kelowna, BC.
When she started her family; that was her focus. All of her children knew they could count on her for whatever they needed, even if they didn’t know it; Mom was there. She felt great joy in raising and watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.
Marlene thoroughly enjoyed playing games (especially card games for money!!!), whether it was with family or friends; she never stopped enjoying the moments had. She loved to laugh and have fun.
Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting, cooking and preserving and any kind of shopping. Marlene was a very social person and touched many people through her volunteer work.
There will be no service as requested by Marlene. Condolences can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) Foundation or Lupus Canada for research.
