Martha was born on February 14th, 1942 in Hoogkerk, Groningen, Netherlands and was called Home to be with her Lord on December 27th, 2020 at the age of 78 years.
Martha will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bob, who was her best friend and soul mate for 60 years; three sons, Sid, Ken and Rob; three special daughters-in-law, Jeanie, Lana and Jennifer; much loved grandchildren, Amber (Blake), Ashley, Amanda (Peter), David (Kelsey), James, Jordan, Jesse, Michael (Chloe) and Logan; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Vivenne, who were the light of Martha's life. She also leaves to mourn her passing, two brothers, Theo (Judith) and Ed (Leone); one very special sister, Evelyn (Pete); and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Peter.
Martha and Bob spent most of their life in Vernon, Mica Creek and Armstrong. They both enjoyed spending time at the Gleaners where they processed vegetables for soup that was then distributed into third world countries.
In respecting Martha's wishes, she was cremated and due to the current pandemic restrictions which have been put in place regarding public gatherings, there will not be a service held at this time. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Martha to The North Okanagan Gleaners, 4405-29th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 5B7.
