We regret to announce the death on April 4, 2007 at Noric House in Vernon, of Martha Louise Wells (nee Robillard), at the age of 81 years. Martha was born in Jasmin, Sask., and was raised and educated in Hudson Bay. With her husband and children, she moved to Field, B.C., where her husband was employed with National Parks. Martha was active in many community activities, including being President of the L.A. to the Legion, and President of the C.W.L. Since their move to Vernon, Martha volunteered with the Canadian Mental Health, and carried on a longtime hobby of quilt making, in addition to her cooking and gardening, sewing and crafts. She has also served as a director of the North Okanagan Community Living Society. Martha was predeceased by her husband, Ralph, daughter Mara, and grandson Curtis. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Graem, Keiran (Bev), Garth (Karen), Susan, Mark, Tressa (Mark) and Van; and eleven grandchildren. Martha is also survived by siblings: Germaine (Shirley), Lawrence (Dorothy), Irene (Langan), Eleanor, Marion, and Elizabeth; and numerous extended family members. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 14, at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Father Martin Peyton officiating.
