On Friday, August 3, 2007 Mary Bishop Horne (nee Fairbairn), born January 21, 1932 in St. Andrew Fife, Scotland passed away at the age of 75 years.
She leaves behind to mourn, her sister June Gatehouse of Kamloops, two half sisters Caroline Down and Anne Kouris both of New Zealand and also a half brother David Fairbairn in Australia. She also leaves to cherish her memory, son Bill (Luisa) Kraus of Ashcroft, son Bruce Kraus of Prince George, daughter Lyn Kraus of Ashcroft and her four grandchildren Laine, Cameron, Carmen and Angela. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew on October 25, 1993 and her son Peter on September 30, 1993.
Mary arrived in Canada in September 1946. She lived in Surrey, till 1949, moving then to Kamloops to work at the Tranquille TB Sanatorium. In 1951 she transferred to the Willow Chest Centre, of the Vancouver General Hospital, till the early 1960’s when she came back to Kamloops to work at Royal Inland Hospital on A Flat. Mary was a Lieutenant in the RCAC, 869 Chase Squadron. She also worked at the Chase RCMP office as a Police Matron.

A Celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Father Tony Ackerman officiating.
