Born in Poland October 10, 1927, Mary Bradt left this life on November 1, 2013 at the Heron Terrace Nursing Home. Mary came to Canada with her parents the late Jerophy (1984) and Marie Daciuk (1939), and older brother Harry (2004) in 1929 on the Empress of Scotland. She grew up in Alberta and called Vernon, BC her home for many years. Mary leaves behind her loving sisters Elizabeth Sheline of California, Nancy Grimm of Alberta, and Jean Gold of British Columbia. Married to the late Jack (1977), she is survived by 8 children – John and his wife Esther of Windsor, Katherine and her husband Don Smith of Bothwell, ON, Janet and her husband Joe Kelly of Burnaby, BC, James and his wife Veronica of Oakville, ON, Karen and her husband Rick Humes of Toronto, Patricia and her husband Tom Rustige of Fort MacMurray, AB, Mark and his wife Sylvia of Bella Coola, BC, and Robin and her husband Tony Casas of Independence, MO. Loving grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mary’s life has taken place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at VICTORIA GREENLAWN FUNERAL HOME, 1525 Hwy 3 (between Howard Ave. and Walker Rd.), Oldcastle, from 11AM until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 12 noon. Mary spent many years volunteering her time to feed the homeless and less fortunate at the Upper Room Mission, Vernon, BC and was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
