MRS.MARY ELIZA ALLEN (MAIN) was called Home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 18th, 2005 at the age of 90 years. Mary passed away suddenly but peacefully in her home in Vernon. Mary is survived by one daughter, Maggie (Gerry) Poole of Abbotsford, B.C., one son, Dave (Marit) Main of Vernon, B.C., six grandchilden; Lisa (Trent), Robert and Christine of Abbotsford, B.C. and Brita (Sandy) of Vancouver, B.C., Fionna and Sheena of Vernon, B.C. and two great-grandchildren; Breanne and Austin of Abbotsford, B.C. Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Main, her second husband, Tom Allen, her grandson, Travis and three sisters; Frances Bell, Annie Cressman and Mabel Hough. Mary embraced life to the fullest and enjoyed many varied interests including sewing, knitting, crocheting and participating in two quilting groups in Vernon. She was famous for her baking of cookies, oatcakes and pies for her family and friends. Mary loved her morning walk and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Vernon where she still took a turn at the piano and organ and also sang in the church choir. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at the Vernon First Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 24th, 2005 at 9:00 A.M. with Pastors Awlwyn Balnave and Allan Dawe officiating. A Graveside Service will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Penticton, B.C. at 1:30 P.M.
