Mary Elizabeth Armstrong (Popilchak), passed away
quietly in Vernon at the Vernon Hospice House on
September 7, 2006 at the age of 86. She was born in Daysland, Alberta on September 7, 1920. Mary was predeceased by her husband Ralph A. Armstrong, and then by her partner Charles E. O’Donnell. She is survived by her son, Brian, of Vernon; her sister Rose (Genge) of Edmonton, Alberta; her brother Herman (Popilchak) of
Taber, Alberta, as well as other extended family. Many thanks to the staff at Hospice House in Vernon for giving Mary tremendous comfort and care during her final days. Exceptional thanks goes to Dr. Werner Schuch for listening when no one else would and referring Mary to the specialists necessary for a ‘proper’ diagnosis. Special thanks go to Marjolaine for her warm, loving presence through everything. A Memorial Service and
reception will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel in
Vernon on September 16, 2006, at 3:30pm. The Chapel is located at 5605-27th St., Vernon, B.C. Cremation, no graveside service. Flowers gratefully declined.
