February 27, 1928 - December 16, 2018
Mary was born in Opal, Alberta to Wasyl and Katyrna Homeniuk on February 27, 1928.

She graduated from McDougal High School in Edmonton and worked as a pin setter for the local bowling alley and later as a stenographer for the Department of Lands and Mines. She married Richard Henderson in 1949 in Vancouver and did office work and bookkeeping for the family roofing business from 1956 - 2006. They moved to the Okanagan in 1976, living in Enderby, Parker Cove and Vernon. Mary is survived by her daughter, Donna (Gary) Lehnert of Burnaby, BC; and sons: Donald (Bonnie)

of Prince George, BC and Brian (Sheila) of Coldstream, BC. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard (1929 - 1995) and daughter, Carol Lynn Smith (1952 - 1994). Mary had requested cremation and no funeral services. We, the family, would like to thank the staff at Vernon Restholm and Noric House for all their help, compassion and understanding. Mary requested the following verse:

When I come to the end of the road, and see the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? For this is the journey we all must take and each must go alone. It's all part of the Master's plan, a step in the road home.

Mary was always a positive influence towards her family, friends and the people she met. She will be sadly missed.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pleasant Valley Dignity Funeral Home, 4303 P.V. Road, Vernon, BC. V1T 4M4 Phone: (250) 542- 4333. Condolences may be offered at pleasantvalleyfh.com.
