It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Mary Brandle on November 14th, 2015 in the Pleasant Valley Manor. She left this world holding the hand of her loving husband Nelson, to whom she was married for 66 years.
Mary will be forever remembered by her husband Nelson; her three sons, Tim (Janice), Bryon (Sue) and Rick (Michele); eight grandchildren, Christopher, Melissa, Tommy, Lorelei, Gina, Christie, Mark and David; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma (Darryl) Penn of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Eileen (Herb) Hoswitchka of Ottawa, Ontario; one brother David (Marilee) Risling of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; her sister-in-law, Marlene Risling of Lloydminster, Alberta; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Magdalena Risling; three brothers; Carl and his wife Jean, Dan and his wife Irene, and Melvin Risling.
Mary was born on May 15th, 1929 in Scott, Saskatchewan. She lived in Revenue, Saskatchewan until her parents sold their General Store and moved to North Battleford, Saskatchewan. She lived her life always giving to others. In addition to caring for her three rambunctious boys, she spent many hours helping Nelson in the business, teaching other children the piano, arranging recitals, organizing school events and playing the organ in church. She was actively involved in the Catholic Church and spent many hours with the Catholic Women’s League. She spent her entire life not having a Driver’s Licence, jokingly saying that if she had one, she would probably run away.
A private family service is being held for Mom with interment following in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Mary to the Alzheimer Society of B.C., #102 – 3402 – 27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S1.
