Mary Rubella (nee Dohm) Drummond

Mary, who was born in Kamloops, passed away peacefully with exquisite tenderness and her loved ones present at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Tuesday January 4th, 2011.

Mary grew up in Kamloops and received her registered nursing diploma in 1951 from St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. She did her post graduate education in obstetrics and worked with high risk newborns and moms.

She is survived by her eight children which were her life’s work: Mark (Marcia Barnes), Mary (Reg Marte), Megan (Gordon Williams), Alison, Liz Morgan, Matthew (Sonja), Jamie (Laurie), and last but not least Jennifer (Mike Boutin), twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by the love of her life, Douglas Drummond, and her three brothers: Martin Dohm (Kamloops) Patrick Dohm (Vancouver) and Michael Dohm (Cobblehill).

She was pre-deceased by sisters Eleanor Duffy, Gertrude Dohm and brothers Thomas Dohm and Dennis Dohm.

Prayers will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Kamloops, B.C. on Monday January 10th @ 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral on Tuesday January 11th at 11:00 am, with a reception to follow in the church hall.
