With love and sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Sawka in her 93rd year. She crossed over peacefully and naturally on Saturday, August 15th, which is also the Feast of the Assumption. When the angels arrived, Mary was ready. After having received her last rites, she knew she was washed in the blood of Christ, had accepted all his promises, and was free. She joins her husband Joseph, father Dan, mother Nettie, brother Nick and sister Nellie.
Mary is survived by her daughter JoAnn (Les), sons, Wayne (Donna) and Michael (Lena). She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great - grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Creekside Landing Assisted Living and the Polson Extended Care Home for all their love and attention these past three years. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 2210 - 40th Ave., Vernon, B.C., on Thursday, August 20, 2020, with burial occurring at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
