In sadness we regret to announce the sudden passing of Tillie Ogasawara at Noric House in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 82 years.
Tillie was born in Rabbit Lake, Saskatchewan in 1938. When she was 8 years old, the family moved to Vernon, B.C. where they owned and operated the Midway Market. She met Mickey and they were married in 1957 and had 2 daughters. Tillie loved listening to all genres of music, singing and was a gifted pianist. Flowers and puttering in any garden was her passion.
Tillie is survived by her daughter; Laurie Amiel, her grandchildren; Trevor (Amber-Lynn) Amiel and Tyler Amiel, her sister and brother in-law; Erma (Felix) Kruger, her sister-in-law; Shirley Ogasawara, her son-in-law; Ken Dockendorf along with numerous nephews, extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Mickey Ogasawara, her parents; Ewald & Martha Gatzke, her daughter; Cindy Thompson, her son-in-law; Norm Amiel, her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Sigie & Amy Ogasawara, her brother-in-law; Normie Ogasawara and by her nephew; Dougie Ogasawara.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Noric House for the special care Tillie received during these trying times.
Due to the Covid restrictions and guidelines in place, a small family graveside service was held in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Tuesday, February 9th, 2021.
