Beloved son of Michael and Elizabeth Heenan of Coldstream BC was tragically taken from this life on Sunday, November 22nd in Kelowna at the young age of 23 years.
Born in Revelstoke on May 14th, 1986, Matthew moved with his family to Coldstream in 1988. He attended Coldstream Elementary and graduated at Kalamalka Secondary School. Matthew worked at various jobs after graduation while trying to determine a career—most recently and most enjoyably was at Kal Tire.
Matthew loved camping, fishing with his friends, music, video games and anything to do with car customizing and sound systems. He was a loyal friend, had a great sense of humour and was always ready to help. On more than one occasion, Matthew took control of accident scenes to keep those involved safe while awaiting arrival of emergency services.
His ready smile and good nature will be sorely missed. He was always our Superhero.
Matthew will forever be loved and remembered by his parents, Mike and Jo, his big sis, Robyn, Auntie Jane (Geoff), Uncle Tim, Uncle John (Denise), Uncle Collins, Uncle Darwin (Sharon), Uncle Eric, Doug, and their families.
A Celebration of Matthew’s Life will be held in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bob Thompson officiating. A reception will follow in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Matthew’s memory to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers at www.MADD.ca
