Irene Gallacher passed away on

December 29th, 2006 at the age of 77 years.

Irene was born on April 28th, 1929 at Irvine,

Alberta. She attended Elm Street and Alexandra Schools in Medicine Hat and later moved to Banff where she worked at the Bank of Montreal while enjoying her love of golf and curling. She met the love of her life, Ed Gallacher and they were married on November 5th, 1966. He predeceased her on February 7th, 2001. Irene moved to Field, B.C. where she owned the Chocolate Shop in Chateau Lake Louise. Ed & Irene retired to Coldstream so they could share their love of fruit trees and rose bushes. She became an avid armchair T.V. sports enthusiast and loved her pet dogs. Irene leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers, Jim (Virginia) Hildenbrand and Jack Hildenbrand, her sister, Ruby (Ian) Milligen and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Ludwig & Emelia Hildebrand. Irene will be sadly missed but fondly remembered for her generosity and sense of humour. We thank all of her friends and family who kept in touch with her over the years. Cremation preceded a Graveside Service which will be held at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Friday, January 5th, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Irene to the B.C.
