We regretfully announce the passing of MRS. MAYBELLE VIOLET BELL at her residence on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005. Maybelle was born on the Cass farm near McLean, Saskatchewan in 1912, the daughter of Jack & Daisy Cass. Her only brother, Cecil passed away in St. Thomas, Ontario some years ago. She was an independent minded woman and had a keen interest in politics and world news. She enjoyed 60 years together with her husband, Russell Bell and lived alone since his passing in 1997. Maybelle was very proud of the fact that in 93 years she had never spent even a day in the hospital. She spent many years in Revelstoke with the Co-op store before moving to Vernon in 1967. She is survived by her three step-sons; Kenneth (Agnes) Bell of Radium, B.C., Gordon (Ethel) Bell of Three Valley Gap, B.C. and Harvey (Lilliana) Bell of Vernon, B.C. as well as her only sister and best friend, Lillian (Cliff) Kanester of Vernon, B.C. and many nieces, nephews and their children. She was a good and kindly person and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 28th, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Allan Dawe officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel. A second Service will be held at Three Valley Gap at the Bell family reunion on Saturday, May 28th, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Maybelle to the charity of their choice. Funeral arrangements have been made with BETHEL
