Maynard Ralph Nelson

July 31, 1945 - January 29, 2020
Maynard was born on July 31st, 1945 in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2020 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 74 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter; Stacey (Owen) Fehr, his grandchildren; Christina (Coleman) Shepherd, Kent Fehr and Kaylan Fehr, his great-grandchildren; Myles and Amaris Shepherd, his siblings; Margaret, Inga, Helmer, Arliene and Ruth along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Maynard was preceded in death by his parents; Ralph & Ellen Nelson, his wife; Lorraine Nelson and by his siblings; Agnes, Ragna, Elvera, Anna, Elfreda, Helga and Ellen.
Maynard was the youngest of 13 children and moved to B.C. in his late teens. He went to carpentry school and went on to work as a carpenter for the rest of his life. Maynard married Lorraine in 1968 and had one daughter together. They moved to Lumby, B.C. in 1973 and remained there for the rest of his life. Over the years Maynard's interests have included snowmobiling, curling, dog showing and retriever trials.
Cremation preceded a Celebration of Maynard's Life which will be held at the Old Age Pensioners Hall in Lumby, B.C. on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
