Mike attended school in Grandview, Manitoba where he met his childhood sweetheart, Hazel Violet Pokotylo. After their marriage they soon started a family and moved to Winnipeg where Mike became the head manager of one of the largest Shell stations (on Portage and Main). He later moved to Vernon where he became a salesman for Peters Tirecraft but then decided to move back to Manitoba where he then worked as a head chef for Air Canada. He ended up coming back to Vernon to enjoy his retirement and resided at the Ukrainian Village where he spent his last days enjoying time with his family and friends and watching hockey. His ambition for life and outgoing personality brought in many friends who he will be greatly missed by. Not a day will go by that Mike (Grandpa) will be deeply missed.
