Michele Sacco

Mr. Michele Sacco (Chef Mike Sacco) of Vernon, B.C. passed away at home at the age of 73 years young after a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side.
Michele was the pillar and strength of our family, he was loved by all, a well respected man in all communities he's been a part of and will be remembered for his smile and kindness. To everyone he met, he was a leader, an entrepreneur, a pioneer, an extremely hard worker and had a fierce love for his family and his future projects.
Mike was a chef for 56 years in Canada. He started his first restaurant, Mike's Pizza & Spaghetti in Edmonton, Alberta in 1972 and continued throughout the years with several other restaurants until he retired with his final restaurant Tita's Italian Bistro in Vernon, BC in 2019.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa; his children, Danny (Palmina) and Cindy (Andrea), grandchildren, Michele and Luciano. His sisters and brother all in Edmonton, Lisa (Attilio) Esposito, Maria (Giuseppe) Gallo, Rosetta (Mike) Bronson & Sandrino Sacco, brother in-laws Giovanni (Linda) Mazzuca, Francesco (Assunta) Mazzuca, Carmine (Lily) Mazzuca and numerous nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his Father, Fortunato Sacco and mother Domenica Epifano-Sacco, mother in-law Raffaela Chiarello-Mazzuca and father in-law Gaetano Mazzuca.
Michele enjoyed spending his time building, creating new projects, going on drives throughout the Okanagan, Sunday family dinners, visiting family and friends and discussing worldly matters.
Funeral will be on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at St. James Catholic Church at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Vernon Jubliee Hospital Cancer Unit where Mike was given the best treatment and kindness possible. The family would like to extend a big thank you to Dr. Hardy, and Dr. Lemiski for the care they provided.
