The family of Mildred Augusta Frederick is sad to announce her passing on Thursday, July 21, 2016, just 20 days short of her 98th birthday. Mildred was born August 10, 1918 in Princeton, B.C.; her family moved to Enderby when Mildred was 6. They lived in the Trinity Valley, and Mildred attended the local school at Trinity Creek. She married Albert Frederick in 1933. They lived in Enderby, Sicamous and Kelowna before settling in Enderby in 1948. Mildred worked at the Ashton Creek General Store for 19 years. She was a loyal member of the Riverside Ladies Club, serving as both president and secretary, and her baking skills were in high demand at every function.

Mildred was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Bert (Albert) Frederick, and her son Daniel. She was the last of her generation of the Pechr (Peacher) family, surviving her siblings Rosie, Sylvia, Joe, Dan, Wenzel, Frank and Ed.

She is survived by her daughter Grace (Hank) Lundquist; eight grandchildren, Roxanna (Leonard), Dani, David (Bonita), Lindsay, Jon (Cassandre), Coraley (Neil), Ladine (Roben), and Mike (Rusheil); thirteen great-grandchildren; four and a half great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Mildred, in the form of a come-and-go tea, on Wednesday, August 3 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Enderby and District Seniors Complex, 1101 George Street, Enderby. No flowers by request, but donations may be made in Mildred’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society B.C. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.MyAlternatives.ca.
