Mildred "Mickey" Grant (nee Lens)

June 12, 1930 - September 5, 2022
Mickey was born on June 12th, 1930 in Canwood, Saskatchewan to Martin and Ragnhild Lens. It is with profound sadness that we announce her peaceful passing on September 5th, 2022 at Noric House in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 92 years.
Mickey is lovingly remembered by her twin sister, Ruth (Lorris) Myhr of Birch Hills, Saskatchewan; her niece, Debbie (Kevin) Clarke; nephew, Terry (Cara) Myhr and grandniece, Erin Clarke; one son, Bob (Candace) Nyberg; two granddaughters, Lisa and Erin; three great-granddaughters, Ava, Hayley and Brinley; her nieces, Maureen (Keith) Rydings and Claire (Lute) Visser; nephew, Wayne (Jan) Grant; grandnieces, Melanie and Pamela; grandnephew, Norman; and numerous great-grandnieces and nephews. Mickey was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Grant in 2009.
Mickey was a Registered Nurse and trained at Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She worked in Vanderhoof and at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon until her retirement. Mickey loved life, caring for others, playing bridge, reading, singing and dancing. Her wonderful smile and loving heart will be missed by all who knew her.
Cremation preceded the Graveside Service which will be held at the family plot in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Tuesday, September 20th, 2022 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend Dr. Teresa Charlton officiating.

We, Mickey's family wish to thank the caring staff on The Landing wing of NoricHouse who for many years supported her so well together with Dr. Melissa Bryant for her ongoing care.
