1928 - 2017

The family of Mildred Phillips sadly announces the unexpected passing of our beloved mother, sister, grandma, and great grandma on March 25th, 2017.

Mildred (Millie) was born in Torrington, Wyoming, October 27th, 1928, one of ten children. Mildred dedicated her entire life to supporting her husband, Gideon, and raising her children. She and Gideon were involved in construction of the Lumby Christian Church building as well as helping DVM Bible Camp. She was an active member of her church and eagerly helped at hot dog lunches for kids and making meat pies. She was an example of strong moral character and was known for her jaw-dropping humour. She will be missed by everyone.

Mildred was pre-deceased by her husband, Gideon; three sisters and three brothers. She is survived by sisters, Dorothy and Edna; brother, James; six children: Kris (Tom), Allan (Margie), Molly (Ken), Andy (Susan), Joe, and Tracie; eleven grandkids, eleven great grandkids, and numerous nephews, nieces, and in-laws.

We will be celebrating her life at Lumby Christian Church on April 8th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.

In memory of Mildred, if you so choose, donations may be made to the Lumby Christian Church Youth Fund.
