MILDRED DAISY SOWERBY

A life-long resident of Vernon, Mildred Daisy Sowerby peacefully departed this world on April 28, 2007 at the age of 91. She had been a resident of Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Polson North Extended Care Facility for several years.

Mildred was predeceased by her beloved husband George, her sister Evelyn and brothers Nelson and Ron. She is survived by nephews Fred Cull (Carol) of Vernon, Erle Nye (Jeanne) of Kelowna, nieces Barb Horne of Calgary, Alberta, Reba Willis (Warren) of Delta, and Elva Biddeson (Tom) of Cranbrook. She leaves behind numerous long-time friends, especially Art and Marian Davidson who were so supportive of Mildred after George’s death, and Ms. Beverly Tilk who provided her with much thoughtful assistance during her residency at Polson North.

Mildred will be remembered for her generosity through her contributions to several charities which were dear to her heart, especially those which benefited animals, underprivileged children and her church.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at All Saints’ Anglican Church on Thursday, May 3rd, at 1:00 P.M. with the Reverend Canon Chris Harwood-Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Vernon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 542-0155.
