SEPTEMBER 27, 1906 - MARCH 30, 2003
FISHER
On March 30th, 2003, Milly Fisher, in the company of her loving family that meant so much to her throughout her life, passed away peacefully after an incredibly long and healthy life. In 1991 Milly’s husband Charlie passed away at the age of 81 years. They were married for 55 years. Milly, ever a lady, was always polite and well dressed. Special thanks to the management and carestaff at Lynn Valley Lodge and Dr. Lahka who consistently provided Milly with care, comfort, affection and dignity. Milly was always appreciative of even the smallest things and she especially enjoyed every moment with her daughter and her family. She loved a hot cup of coffee, good German sauerkraut, scenic drives and going for lunch with her daughter and granddaughters at Rene’s. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1906, Milly’s family moved to Duck Lake, Saskatchewan where she met her husband Charlie. They moved to Vernon, B.C. after Charlie returned from the war and they raised their family there. After Charlie’s and her sister, Elsie’s passing, Milly moved to the North Shore to join her children. She delighted in spending these last 8 years close to her family. Milly will be deeply missed by those who loved her: daughter Vivian, her husband Nigel and their daughters Dani and Angie; son Charles, his wife Myrtle and their children Nancy and Glen; and her only surviving sister, Lydia. A small service will be held at Hollyburn Funeral Home, West Vancouver on Sunday, April 6th, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service at the Vernon Cemetery on Friday, April 11, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, Milly would have appreciated a small donation to a charity of your choice.
