Minnie Quamme, born October 18, 1916 in Gadsby, Alberta, passed away peacefully at
Heritage Square on November 28, 2006.
Minnie was a resident of Vernon for the past 60 years and retired from the housekeeping staff at VJH in 1977 after a 20 year career. She was a long-time volunteer with the CNIB bowling league and enjoyed her day trips, card nights and birthday dinners at Schubert Centre. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her nephew George (Kathy) Heer, nieces Margaret (Frank Barr) and Helen (Graeme Corney) who provided for her care over the past several years of her declining health. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Heer of Red Deer, Alberta and many nieces and nephews in BC and Alberta. Her parents, brothers John, Bill, Henry and sisters Emma Hartman and Mary Payne predeceased Minnie. Deep appreciation goes to the dedicated staff at Anjou Home and Heritage Square for their wonderful support and for making her final years of her life more comfortable. A very special thank you to Marjorie Morales for her extraordinary and personal care-giving to Minnie this past year. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to Vernon Funeral Home.
